I studied Screenwriting and hold a PhD in Performing Arts (Theatre), and I’ve spent a lot of time trying to understand how stories actually come together.
While working on my own feature screenplay, I realized that writing wasn’t the hardest part, seeing the story clearly was.
I kept running into the same problem: I had ideas, scenes, fragments, but no clear way to actually see the whole story. So I started building a system for myself.
Something visual.
Something flexible.
Something I could think in.
Origin story
At first, it was just a way to organize my scenes. I wanted to understand what I had. What I realized quickly is that writing wasn’t the hardest part:
rebuilding structure over and over again was. Reordering scenes. Tracking changes. Trying to see how everything connects. It felt like I was repeating the same actions again and again.
So I built a system that removes that repetition.
A system where you can: see your story, move it freely, and build it step by step.
That system became FilmPlan.
