How it works

How FilmPlan works

FilmPlan helps screenwriters develop the story before writing the script.
Instead of starting with blank pages, you start with scenes, beats, fragments and ideas, then organize them into a clear visual structure.

Start with a card

Every idea begins as a card.

A card can be a scene, a moment, a beat, an image, or a turning point. You add a short description, choose the characters involved and assign the card to a plotline.

Build visually

As you add more cards, your story starts to take shape.

You can move scenes around, reorder them, group them by plotline and see how the structure evolves. FilmPlan lets you organize your film visually, before you commit to pages of screenplay.
